Process Safety Management
Telluride Engineering is a safety-focused engineering firm, with a robust background in process safety and life safety and safety instrumented systems. We can help your project team, whether as an owner’s representative or as part of an architectural and engineering team to develop new processes and installations. Generally, this process safety is based upon the standards set forth in IEC 61508, 61511 for the broad process industry, as well as others (such as SEMI S2) for specific industries
We have personnel on staff with TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety engineering certifications in safety instrumented systems and process hazard and risk assessment. We’re also active contributors to safety committees such as SEMI’s EH&S standard committees, and Telluride Engineering is a member of AIChE’s CCPS (center for chemical and process safety).
We can lead HAZOPs, failure mode and effect analyses (FMEAs), what-if analysis, fault tree analyses and other forms of risk-based process safety management approaches. We have a robust background in process engineering in the semiconductor, life science and manufacturing, which allows us to spot hazards early on and help develop mitigation methods. We use similar risk-base mitigation and minimization methods for patient safety, such as those required to ensure that the product remains safe, effective an in conformance with the FDA biological certification. Our personnel’s background both in operations and projects enables our team to deliver a comprehensive strategy for risk management, whether through elimination, engineering controls, administrative controls or personal protective equipment.
We can do further analysis on industrial hygiene, such as gas dispersion, concentration of toxic gases or flammable gases, and similar roles which impact personnel or equipment.
